Peter Clark and Gordon LaFortune began conducting a two week series of Canada – E.U. sponsored workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The objective of this project was to provide technical assistance to the Vietnamese authorities in dealing with WTO and regional Dispute Settlement.

Peter Clark appeared before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade on behalf of the Coalition for Fair Lumber Imports. Mr. Clark presented the Committee with the Coalitions concerns regarding Canada’s administering of the Softwood Lumber agreement.

Peter Clark and Chris Hines conducted a review of workshops in Manila in the final component of Phase 1 of the “Philippines AD/CVD Technical Assistance Program”. In this round the focus was on case study analysis, verification practices and a roundtable discussion to facilitate the compilation of an Administrative Practices Manual. Participants were engaged in a thorough analysis combining real cases and over fifty years experience from the Grey Clark Shih team.

Peter Clark appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade to discuss Canada’s trade relations with the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Mr. Clark proposed Canada move farther and faster to negotiate a free trade agreement as Canada’s manufacturers are ideally suited to integrate with ASEAN supply lines.
